The last and only guidelines for the management of penetrating brain injury were published in 2001. Over 70% of the literature related to penetrating brain injury has been published since the creation of these guidelines.  The United States Army Medical Research and Development Command, in partnership with the Brain Trauma Foundation, recognizing a critical need, has updated these guidelines through rigorous methodology with subject matter experts from around the world.  The purpose of this webinar is to provide a preview of the these forthcoming guidelines.

• Describe the recommendations for the surgical management of penetrating brain injury.
